An intensive workshop in the development of exceptional custom finishes currently in demand by the more discerning clients, architects and designers.
Class generally runs 8 or more hours daily to produce approximately thirty 20”X24” sample boards of unparalleled sophistication including: glazing, layered glazing, crumpled paper embedded and interactive solvents, metallic, pearlescents, caen stone, plaster finishes, clouds, and an array of textured materials. There is ample class time to section some of these samples into smaller interpretations of any particular finish giving many students more than thirty portfolio ready samples.
Students will interpret traditional decorative painting techniques using Faux Effects®, state-of-the-art materials that: stay wet longer than any other glazing media, have unique reactions using nontoxic solvents and utilize the drying process to obtain organic looking and textured finishes. The color pigments have a beautiful translucent color quality that won't get muddy even if mixing four or five unrelated colors together in one layer.
The endless possibilities offered by the combinations of these techniques will excite novices and challenge professional artisans alike. Even the most experienced painters remark that they have learned enough in this class alone to keep their portfolio new and exciting for years to come.
